By the way, the Japanese word for salmon is “sake”, which comes from the language of the indigenous Ainu living in Hokkaido, Japan.
The word “sake” in the Ainu language means summer food.
Recently, a national Ainu culture center has been opened and the momentum to pass on Ainu culture has been increasing.
